The Latin American Association (LAA), the preeminent non-profit organization providing social and legal immigration services to the Latino community, is proud to announce the addition of Richard Goodlette to the organization. Mr. Goodlette joins the Immigration Services Department team as the Senior Legal Assistant.
Mr. Goodlette’s Latino roots are in Puerto Rico, where his mother was born and where he attended the University of Puerto Rico. Prior to joining the LAA, Mr. Goodlette was accredited by the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) and held a Senior Legal Assistant position at Catholic Charities (formerly known as Catholic Social Services), where he specialized in immigration law and particularly complex cases. He is a native Spanish speaker with a passion for those who he represents.
With over 9 years of experience in the field, Mr. Goodlette brings a wealth of skills and knowledge in immigration matters and an outstanding ability to communicate with clients. He has also worked in the private sector.
“We are thrilled to have someone with the kind of drive and substantive legal knowledge that Richard adds to the team,” noted Maritza Pichon, Executive Director of the Latin American Association. “He brings a broad range of expertise and experience to the Immigration Services Department, along with the passion to serve that continues to define the culture at the LAA.”
According to Kerry McGrath, an attorney at the Latin American Association, “Richard will play a significant role in helping to deliver the high level of services our clients expect. His extensive experience and dedication are exactly what the LAA needs to continue to deliver the best services to the community as the demand for immigration legal services continues to grow.” Richard noted, “LAA is a true leader in the Latino community and I am delighted to be a part of the team. It is such an energetic place to work and I am looking forward to continuing to serve the community”.
The Immigration Services Department mission is to provide comprehensive and high quality legal services to low or moderate income individuals on immigration matters for the state of Georgia and Alabama. Our legal services help immigrants understand their rights and obligations under the immigration law, which promotes family unity in the community. The LAA is recognized by the BIA to represent clients before the Immigration Service.
